Scoopie LLC ("Scoopie," "we," "us") provides pooper scooper and pet waste removal services in Utah. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
On this page
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact & service details — name, email address, phone number, service address, and information about your property and pets that you provide when you request service, fill out our intake form, or contact us.
- Referrals — if you use our referral page, the first name you enter so a friend can mention you.
- Communications — messages you send us by chat, text, email, or phone, including their contents.
- Payment information — your plan and billing details. Card payments are processed by Stripe; Scoopie does not store full card numbers on our own systems.
Information we collect automatically
- Device & usage data — IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring page, and timestamps, collected when you use our website.
- Cookies & analytics identifiers — see Cookies & Google Analytics below.
2. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, schedule, and manage your pet waste removal service;
- Process payments and manage your account and billing;
- Respond to your questions and requests (including through our chat assistant);
- Send you service updates, reminders, and — where permitted — marketing about Scoopie;
- Operate, secure, debug, and improve our website and services, including analytics;
- Prevent fraud and abuse (for example, rate-limiting our chat by IP address); and
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. Cookies & Google Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to run our site and understand how it is used.
- Essential cookies keep the site working (for example, security and basic preferences).
- Analytics cookies help us measure traffic and improve the site.
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4, a web-analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors interact with our website. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, your approximate (city-level) location, and the type of device and browser you use, and assigns a pseudonymous identifier to your browser or device. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. This information helps us measure and improve our site, and Google processes it on our behalf. Learn more at Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and you can control or block cookies through your browser settings.
4. Our chat assistant
Our website offers a chat assistant ("Jake") that answers questions about our service. When you use it:
- The messages you send, along with any name, email, phone number, or ZIP code you provide, are stored in our database (hosted by Supabase) so we can follow up and improve our service.
- To generate replies, your messages are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic (the Claude API), which processes them on our behalf and does not use them to train its models under our agreement.
- We may send notifications about new chats to our team by email (via Resend) and internal messaging (via Slack).
Please don't share sensitive personal information in the chat that isn't needed to help you.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described here:
- Service providers (subprocessors) who help us operate, including: Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (database), Anthropic (AI chat), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Google (analytics and fonts), and our SMS/voice provider. These providers may process your information only to provide services to us.
- Legal & safety — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Scoopie, our customers, or others.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
6. Text messages & calls
If you give us your phone number, we may contact you by call or text about scheduling, service, and your account. Where required, we will obtain your consent before sending marketing texts. Message and data rates may apply, and you can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP. We do not share mobile opt-in data with third parties for their own marketing.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, maintain your account, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Chat transcripts and analytics data are retained for up to 24 months unless a longer period is required. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing or marketing. Scoopie does not sell personal data and does not use it for targeted advertising. To exercise these rights, email support@scoopie.us; we will verify and respond within 45 days as the Act allows.
